Our Week at a Glance.


The Weekly Theme: Birds and Birthdays

The Letter of the Week: None; We are practicing writing our name this week.

Math Focus: Basic Addition

Science Projects: Making an edible bird feeder.


Monday:


Using our Bird pre-writing printable to began our day, as both an introduction to the theme of the week and to practice handwriting. Then some name practice. We will also be using some sheets from this Printable found on Homeschool Creations and this one from 1+1+1=1.



Tuesday:



It’s Mokey’s 1st Birthday Today! We will be baking cupcakes for her today.

We will be moving our outdoors to do a bird study (during Mokey’s naptime) using this Printable from Homeschool Creations. We will be counting the number of birds we see in our yard as well as attempting to identify them. We will talk about whether they are alone or in a group, the colors, if they are big or small and so forth.

 

Wednesday:



Our first day back at the Farmers Market this year! We will also be baking edible bird feeders to attract even more birds to our yard. Finally we will be using our Mini Helper from Currclick and Homeschool bits to learn about Robins.



Thursday:



Today we will be submitting the information we gathered Tuesday into “The Great Backyard Bird Count” Here is the website for The Great Backyard Bird Count to get started if you and your preschooler are interested in this project too!


Friday:


We will be working out of workbooks today. We may also watch a bird related netflix show.
