Our weekly theme is starting a garden. We will be learning about plants this week, and what plants need to survive. Boober is also practicing writing letter B. We went over letter "B" last month, but I like to take another week to reinforce the previous lesson. If it seems he knows his stuff we simply move on, if not we work at it a little while longer.
I typically spend one week on a letter. Day one is my introduction day, then reinforcement learning activities follow throughout the week. We do workbook practice, scribble practice, play-dough mats and Do-a-dot letter identifying as examples.
Since Boober seems to have trouble with writing the letter B we are going to review. I made him a short story and a printable to go along with it. I will offer both for free for a little while on the site. Simply print the pages, cut them out, laminate them and staple together or loop on a ring. Then print the practice writing page to go along with the story.
Today we are also reading Grace's Garden which we were able to get for free last week on amazon. We will be planting seeds in little paper cups and placing them in our school room in the sunlight to sprout before they are transplanted into our garden.
I hope you enjoy your school week. I can't believe its already Thursday!
