The Importance of Outdoors; and Bug Facts!

Sometimes in our house we need to get outside and have some fun. We are still using our time to learn of course but Boober is a ball of energy and he will not do well indoors if he can't move and play.

It helps Boober to understand our lessons so much better when we get hands on. We have a lot of fun when we get outside and try to learn. One of the ways I taught him colors was by holding a scavenger hunt outside for different color flowers. Preschoolers are really naturally hands on learners anyway.

Since this week we are learning about bugs we are having a bug hunt with an emphasis on who finds the most Ladybugs!

Did you know all these interesting Lady Bug Facts?

There are approx 5,000 different species of Ladybugs.
Female Ladybugs can lay a thousand eggs in a lifetime.
Ladybugs are also known as lady beetles or ladybird beetles.
Ladybugs have special sensory organs on their feet which help them smell.
Ladybugs eat aphids and other plant-eating pests.
The Ladybugs bright markings are a warning to predators not to eat them.
Ladybugs can fly at speeds of up to 15 mph.
